Finland’s 110th anniversary
In 2027, Finland will have been independent for 110 years.
It has become customary to celebrate major anniversaries of Finland’s independence with greater ceremony than usual. In addition to commemorating Finland’s independence, the anniversary celebrations offer an opportunity to update our understanding of Finland and Finnish identity.
Finland’s 110th anniversary committee
The committee will ensure that the celebrations are implemented in broad-based cooperation a variety of actors and stakeholders. The committee’s 26 members represent a wide range of sectors in Finnish society. Risto Artjoki, State Secretary to the Prime Minister, will serve as the committee’s chair.
