Cardiovascular health and organ donation and transplantation on the agenda of informal meeting of health ministers

An informal meeting of EU health ministers will be held on 24 and 25 July 2024. Finland will be represented in the meeting by Annakaisa Iivari, Director General at the Ministry of Social Affairs and Health.

At their informal meeting, the EU health ministers will discuss cardiovascular health and organ donation and transplantation.

Non-communicable diseases (NCDs) such as cardiovascular diseases can be effectively prevented by taking action against risk factors. In Finland’s view, better implementation of the EU NCDs initiative “Healthier together” would be needed at the EU level. Finland also supports a strengthening of healthcare systems.

No decisions will be made at the informal meeting of health ministers.
