Permanent Secretary Kivimäki to attend Mobile World Congress and visit Madrid

Minna Kivimäki, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Transport and Communications, will attend the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona on 3 and 4 March 2025, followed by a visit to Madrid to meet representatives of the Spanish administration on 5 March 2025.

Permanent Secretary Kivimäki will participate in a round table discussion on spectrum policy and in a panel discussion on 5G frequency bands. She will also open a networking event at the Finland Pavilion.

Kivimäki will meet with Japan's Vice-Minister for International Affairs Takuo Imagawa, Spain's State Secretary for Telecommunications and Digital Infrastructure María González Veracruz, US Coordinator for International Communications and Information Policy Steve Lang, and UNESCO Assistant Director-General for Communication and Information Tawfik Jelassi.

After the Barcelona Mobile World Congress, Kivimäki will visit Madrid on 5 March 2025 to discuss digital competitiveness and economic security with representatives of the Spanish administration.

Kivimäki's visit, organised in partnership with the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment, will include meetings with State Secretary for Industry Rebeca Torró Soler and Secretary General of the Treasury and International Financing Paula Conthe. Kivimäki will also meet representatives of Finnish businesses based in Spain and participate in a panel discussion on European technology sovereignty and competitiveness.
