Press release

The Government has allocated additional financing of EUR 500,000 to support domestic travel and tourism as part of the recovery measures related to the COVID-19 crisis. The financing will be used to implement a national domestic tourism campaign in connection with the ongoing 100 reasons to travel in Finland campaign by the Finnish Association of Tourism Organisations, Suoma ry.

The campaign aims to draw attention to the products and services provided by Finnish tourism companies, to help companies recover from the coronavirus crisis, and to extend the domestic tourism season well into the autumn months. The 100syyta.fi campaign website coordinated by Suoma ry was launched at the beginning of May, while extensive advertising in digital and social media, outdoor platforms and on the radio began in June. The campaign will run until the end of October 2020.

The additional financing will be allocated to increasing the visibility of tourism companies and their products and services, with the objective of expanding the campaign to cover a larger number of small and medium-sized tourism companies from all parts of Finland. To this end, all tourism companies serving the domestic travel and tourism sector will be able to participate in the extended campaign for a participation fee of EUR 300 + VAT.

Registration and detailed instructions coming soon

An electronic registration form for signing up for the campaign will be made available soon. To sign up, companies must have a free Google My Business account for adding their basic information to the 100syyta.fi platform. Posts and visual content from the company’s Instagram account can be uploaded to the campaign platform.

Suoma ry will publish an electronic registration form and more detailed instructions for campaign participation soon. Registration is open until 30 September, allowing companies to join in flexibly at their convenience.
