Finnish Minister for Nordic Cooperation Anders Adlercreutz will attend the meeting of Ministers for Nordic Cooperation in Copenhagen on 26 February. Finland and Åland are holding the Presidency of the Nordic Council of Ministers in 2025.

A main theme of the meeting of Ministers for Nordic Cooperation will be children and young people, which is a priority area of the Programme for the Finnish and Ålandic Co-Presidency 2025. The ministers will discuss topical themes related to children and young people in the Nordic countries with Finland’s Ombudsman for Children Elina Pekkarinen.

“We want to ensure that children and young people remain a priority of Nordic cooperation now and in the future. We will discuss and identify matters affecting children and young people in which it is necessary and useful for the Nordic countries to direct efforts, and ways to further enhance these efforts,” Minister Adlercreutz says.

At the meeting, the Ministers for Nordic Cooperation will also decide on the budgetary framework of the Nordic Council of Ministers for 2026 and discuss the Nordic free movement programme, which aims to remove obstacles to free cross-border movement between the Nordic countries.
