In their meeting on Monday 17 February, the President of the Republic and the Ministerial Committee on Foreign and Security Policy discussed the talks to end Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine.

The President and the Ministerial Committee on Foreign and Security Policy stated that Finland will continue its support to strengthen Ukraine. Finland will engage with its allies and partners to achieve a just and lasting peace in Ukraine. The outcome of the war will have fundamental and long-lasting effects on European and transatlantic security. Ukraine and Europe must be involved in any talks concerning their security.

Finland will continue to promote peace across the different phases of the process: before negotiations and during ceasefire and peace negotiations.
