Advice to SMEs on labour law issues available by telephone
Surveys suggest that SMEs need more information about laws and regulations that apply to working life. Advice on working life regulation and employment practices can support employment, prevent disputes in the workplace, improve the functioning of the labour market and increase cooperation between employers and employees.
The Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment is financing a project that involves experts in labour law providing practical advice by telephone. The Federation of Finnish Enterprises implements the project in 2020 and 2021.
The project aims to:
- Increase awareness and knowledge of matters regarding labour law, employment, and employment relationships among self-employed persons and in small enterprises.
- Facilitate employment by providing concrete, up-to-date and low-threshold advisory services, thereby helping to create better conditions for employment in small enterprises.
- Prevent labour law disputes.
The telephone service for SMEs will open on 13 May 2020. Services are available on weekdays 8–16 in Finnish, Swedish and English, and in other languages as necessary to serve entrepreneurs with an immigrant background. The services are provided free of charge to all companies regardless of their entrepreneur organisation membership.
