The project will be carried out under the Coordination Group for Digitalisation. The Ministry of Transport and Communications will have the overall responsibility for the project. Other contributors will include the Ministry of Education and Culture and the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment. The project will be implemented in cooperation with the Ministry of Finance (incl. the GenAI network) and the Prime Minister’s Office.

This will be achieved by funding projects that reduce greenhouse gas emissions and simultaneously advance sustainable development goals. Offsetting flight emissions is a concrete climate action and part of the sustainable meeting arrangements for Finland’s Presidency. The approach is driven by the need to respond to climate change.
