7.12.2023 | The Government has issued decrees on rehabilitation for disabled veterans’ spouses and widows and for war widows and on the front-line allowance for foreign volunteer front-line soldiers in 2024.

27.4.2022 | On Wednesday 27 April, Prime Minister Sanna Marin will attend the main event of National Veterans’ Day in Lappeenranta, where she will give an address on behalf of the Government. During her visit, the Prime Minister will also meet with representatives from the City of Lappeenranta.

27.4.2022 | The Government is exploring ways to preserve the legacy of Finland’s veterans and the wars Finland took part in between 1939 and 1945 in the future. On National Veterans’ Day, 27 April, the Prime Minister’s Office appointed a working group to explore the topic and draw up a proposal for how to preserve, manage and foster this legacy as a part of Finnish society. The working group was appointed at the request of the parliamentary groups.

5.8.2022 | The Ministry of Social Affairs and Health proposes appropriations of about EUR 15.8 billion for the Ministry and its administrative branch for 2023. This is about EUR 0.2 billion less than in the 2022 Budget. The decrease is mainly due to the end of the Government Programme projects and changes in the needs assessment.
