23.12.2022 | Christmas often comes with many expectations. They can be our own or those of others. This Christmas, I hope we can be kind to ourselves, despite the expectations. Not everything needs to be done by the end of the year – Christmas will arrive, even if it is somewhat unfinished.

At times during the past year, many of us have felt very small. We have not been able to choose the situation we are in, and at this time last year, we did not yet know that the global COVID-19 pandemic would put our everyday lives on hold as it has.

12.8.2025 | The Siikajoki Vapaaksi environmental association is set to restore the Pöyrynkoski rapids, enabling the free ascent of migratory fish in the river. The project was formally launched on Tuesday 12 August at Revonlahti School in Siikajoki, North Ostrobothnia. Formally conveying favourable greetings to the event, Minister of Agriculture and Forestry Sari Essayah noted that the project was a superb example of a remediation exercise promoted by local parties and prepared in broad partnership.

4.11.2021 | Nordic authorities and civil society actors working against trafficking in human beings will meet at a seminar in Helsinki on 18 November 2021. The aim with the seminar is to share information and expertise and thus support the participants in their work for strengthening the anti-trafficking efforts. Registration for the live-streamed parts of the seminar is open until 15 November 2021.

11.12.2020 | This year’s FinnSight day focused on the Government report on the future, in which the Government and Parliament discuss issues affecting the future of Finland. In line with the Government report on the Future, the theme of the FinnSight 2020 foresight forum held on 10 December was the Finland of future generations. The FinnSight 2020 event is part of the preparations for the Government report on the future and Finland’s national foresight activities.
