11.1.2023 | The Parliamentary Working Group on Research, Development and Innovation has prepared a draft for a multi-annual plan on the use of R&D funding and is now inviting stakeholders to comment on its content. The request for comments concerns the different aspects of the plan with regard to the Finnish RDI system and key development needs for RDI funding. Stakeholders are also invited to discuss the plan at an event on 18 January.

21.12.2022 | Minister of Science and Culture Petri Honkonen has granted nearly four million euros in discretionary funding to develop and increase the availability of cyber security education and boost the research and teaching of information psychology.

22.12.2021 | The Ministry of Education and Culture and the Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare have updated two recommendations related to the prevention of the COVID-19 epidemic. One of the recommendations applies to providers of early childhood education and care and school education, and the second to providers of general upper secondary education and vocational education and training, liberal adult education, basic education for adults, universities of applied sciences and universities.

3.2.2021 | The Digivision 2030, a joint project between Finnish universities and universities of applied sciences, will bring greater opportunities for all learners to learn flexibly. The aim is to restructure Finland’s higher education over the next decade by means of digitalisation and to make Finland a model country for flexible learning.

These are the results of the final report by the Finnish Institute for Educational Research of the University of Jyväskylä and the Kappas! project of the Centre for University Teaching and Learning of Helsinki University.

They have highlighted on various occasions the need to develop the activities of the authorities, especially those of the police. 4.8.2020 | The Ministry of Education and Culture and the Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare have updated the instructions related to the coronavirus epidemic they issued to education providers and educational institutions in the spring. The most important thing is, also from now on, to prevent infections, ensure good hygiene, avoid unnecessary close contacts, and arrange teaching premises more spaciously than usual.
