25.1.2024 | The Government has decided to raise the maximum amounts of home savers bonus (ASP) loans intended for those buying their first home. The maximum amounts will rise between EUR 15,000 and 25,000 depending on the municipality where the home is located. The aim is to make it easier for people to purchase or build their first home. This is about EUR 475 million less than in the 2025 Budget. 12.6.2025 | On 12 June 2025, the Ministry of Transport and Communications initiated a regulation project to amend the Driving Licence Act. The project’s goals are to promote road safety by improving the capability of young drivers to identify and avoid risks and by restricting the times of day young people can drive. 16.12.2022 | In the December round of the Citizens’ Pulse Survey commissioned by the Government, young people reported the highest levels of stress recorded in the survey to date. All in all, 49 per cent of 15–29-year-olds reported experiencing fairly or very high levels of stress. 21.11.2024 | On Thursday 21 November, the Government submitted its proposal to Parliament to amend the budget proposal for 2025. Some items in the proposal concern the Government's EUR 4 billion investment programme.
