6.5.2021 | Value-added tax (VAT) on online purchases will, in future, also be payable on consignments valued at EUR 22 or less that are imported from outside the European Union. The Government proposes that the applicable legislative amendments be approved by the President of the Republic for entry into force at the beginning of July.

Supporting economic growth and continuing responsible fiscal management is necessary to ensure the security of people in Finland and safeguard their access to important services going forward.

5.12.2025 | The Government has decided to set up a fixed-term state aid scheme for data centres. The Government will also launch a cross-administrative legislative project to establish a register of data centres and lay down the related obligations. These decisions were made by the Ministerial Committee on Economic Policy in its Friday 5 December meeting, where the committee also decided that the security authorities would explore the security aspects related to data centres.
