Government formation talks 2023
The government formation talks, led by Petteri Orpo, the Chairman of the National Coalition Party (Kokoomus), were held at Säätytalo in Helsinki from May 2nd to June 16th, 2023.
The political parties participating in the talks were the National Coalition Party (Kokoomus), the Finns Party (Perussuomalaiset), the Swedish People’s Party of Finland (Ruotsalainen kansanpuolue) and the Christian Democrats in Finland (Kristillisdemokraatit).
In the government formation talks, discussions were held to agree on the new government programme, the number of ministers, the ministerial portfolios and the division of responsibilities between the parties.
