On 12 September 2018, the Commission proposed to end seasonal clock changes in Europe in 2019. According to the Commission's proposal, Member States will decide whether they want to maintain permanent winter- or summer-time. Clocks are changed in all EU Member States at the same time on the same date. 22.12.2025 | Finland has decided to apply for support from the European Globalisation Adjustment Fund (EGF) to reduce the impact of terminations announced by the paper industry in October. Finland will submit an application to the European Commission in early 2026 after the number of people being made redundant is known. Funding will be used for services promoting re-employment. 7.5.2026 | On 7 May 2026, the Government submitted for approval amendments to the Act on Transport Services, the Driving Licence Act, the Act on the Organisation of Driver Examinations and the Act on the Enforcement of a Fine. The amendments aim to improve the operating conditions for the transport sector. 31.10.2024 | The European Union has adopted a Directive establishing the European Disability Card and the European Parking Card for persons with disabilities. The EU has also adopted a Directive extending the European Disability Card and the European Parking Card to third-country nationals legally residing in EU Member States.
