9.4.2026 | The Finnish Ministry of Defence and Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) signed a government-to-government contract on 9 April 2026 regarding the purchase of surplus K9 self-propelled howitzers.

15.5.2026 | Minister of Economic Affairs Sakari Puisto will visit the Republic of Korea on 17–19 May and Japan on 19–22 May 2026. The topics on the agenda will include economic security and critical and emerging technologies. In Japan, Puisto will be accompanied by a business delegation from Finland’s quantum sector and other key high technology companies.

15.4.2026 | Riikka Pellinen, PhD., has been appointed as an expert in higher education and science policy at the Embassy of Finland in Seoul. Her three-year term begins on 1 August 2026. With this appointment, the Team Finland Knowledge network’s geographical scope is extended to South Korea.

22.11.2024 | Pressures to reach an understanding will be mounting when the representatives of the UN Member States convene in Busan, Republic of Korea, on 25 November–1 December for the last scheduled negotiations on the Global Plastics Treaty. 3.4.2023 | On 4 April, Minister for Foreign Affairs Pekka Haavisto will deposit Finland's instrument of accession to the North Atlantic Treaty. Minister Haavisto will deposit the instrument of accession in Brussels with the Government of the United States. Finland will become a NATO member country at the moment of the deposit. Minister Haavisto will also represent Finland at the meeting of NATO Ministers of Foreign Affairs starting on the same day.
