19.12.2025 | The Ministry of the Interior has sent out for comments a proposal to amend the Firearms Act. The draft proposal takes into account the need for amendments that has emerged in the application of the act following the reforms introduced to implement the most recent amendment to the EU Firearms Directive. The consultation round closes on 30 January 2026.

The most positive attitudes are found among young people, while pensioners are the most negative. An increasing share of respondents are unwilling or unable to express an opinion.

8.10.2025 | Minister of the Interior Mari Rantanen will visit Warsaw, Poland on 8 October, where she will meet Poland’s Minister of the Interior and Administration Marcin Kierwiński. The two ministers will discuss the border situation in both countries.
