  7. 16.12.2024 | A working group appointed by Minister of Defence Antti Häkkänen proposed in its report that no permit to buy real estate should be granted to persons whose country of nationality has been found by the European Union to be in violation of the territorial integrity, sovereignty and independence of another country and whose country of nationality may be a threat to Finland’s national security. Further provisions on such countries would be issued by government decree.

  8. 22.11.2024 | On Friday 22 November, the President of the Republic and the Ministerial Committee on Foreign and Security Policy discussed the recent damage to undersea telecommunications cables in the Baltic Sea. The National Bureau of Investigation is investigating the matter in Finland and engaging in international cooperation. It is still too early to assess the cause of the damage. The damage does not affect network traffic or Finland’s security of supply.
