21.2.2022 | Datahub, the centralised information exchange system for the electricity retail market, went live on 21 February 2022. Datahub centralises the data from about 3.8 million electricity accounting points in a single system, and it significantly accelerates the exchange of information in the electricity retail market. Datahub is a key part of the flexible power system of the future.

16.12.2021 | One of the objectives of the National Public Procurement Strategy is to promote respect for human rights and fundamental labour rights in procurement. To support the achievement of this objective, a Code of Conduct specifying the minimum requirements regarding responsibility has been drawn up in cooperation with the Procurement Finland project organisation. The Code of Conduct is to be included in the procurement contract.

2.12.2021 | Commissioned by the Ministry of Finance, the European Institute for Crime Prevention and Control, affiliated with the United Nations (HEUNI), has produced a guide for risk management in national supply chains for public procurement agencies in Finland titled Labour Exploitation and Public Procurement. Public procurement agencies include the central government and municipalities, which are required to comply with the Act on Public Procurement and Concession Contracts.

2.12.2021 | The Government has submitted the Act on the guarantee of origin of energy to the President of the Republic for approval. The Act will make it easier for customers to influence the origin of the energy they are buying through a reliable system. With the guarantee of origin, consumers can trust that the energy marketed and sold to them as renewable is in fact produced from renewable energy sources. The Act will enter into force on 3 December 2021.
