12.1.2026 | In order to promote the capture of biogenic carbon dioxide, the Government has decided to grant investment aid totalling EUR 90 million for the construction of capture capacity. The Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment has now launched a call for applications for the competitive bidding process for the investment aid. Applications can be submitted at Business Finland’s e-service portal no later than 31 March 2026.

7.5.2026 | Based on the 2025 hydrogen auction of its Innovation Fund, the European Commission has selected nine projects that will proceed to agreement negotiations. Among them is the Cloudberry project of Finland’s Vetyalfa Oy. The Commission published the results of the auction on 7 May 2026.

9.4.2026 | The Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment received eight applications for investment aid for biogenic carbon dioxide capture projects by the deadline of 31 March 2026. The amount of aid applied totals EUR 101 million.

4.9.2024 | The European Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency (CINEA) will organise a virtual information event for Finland and Estonia on the ongoing call for tenders on solar power plants located in Finland and on onshore wind power plant projects located in Estonia.

27.2.2023 | Luxembourg will fund solar power projects in Finland with EUR 40 million through a new EU renewable energy financing mechanism. The projects will be selected through competitive tendering carried out by the European Commission and the European Climate, Environment and Infrastructure Executive Agency (CINEA).

The panel, having visited the candidate cities, announced its recommendation at the end of its two-day meeting in Helsinki on Wednesday 2 June.
