27.3.2026 | Rikoslakiin lisätään erilliset säännökset poliisi- tai hälytystoiminnan vaikeuttamisesta ja haittaamisesta. Uudet säännökset tulevat voimaan 1. huhtikuuta. Tasavallan presidentti vahvisti lain tänään.

27.6.2025 | Hallitus esittää, että rikoslakiin lisätään poliisi- tai hälytystoiminnan vaikeuttamista ja haittaamista koskevat erilliset säännökset. Vaikeuttamisena rangaistavaa olisi esimerkiksi ensihoitajiin, pelastajiin ja poliiseihin työtehtävissä kohdistuva väkivalta ja uhkailu. Haittaamisrikos koskisi lievempiä poliisi- ja hälytystoimintaan kohdistuvia tekoja.

5.2.2025 | Oikeusministeriö on lähettänyt lausunnoille lakiehdotuksen, jonka mukaan poliisi- tai hälytystoiminnan vaikeuttaminen sekä haittaaminen säädetään erikseen rangaistavaksi. Ehdotetut rikoslain muutokset kiristäisivät rangaistuksia tämän kaltaisissa rikoksissa. Tavoitteena on vahvistaa poliisien, pelastajien ja ensihoitajien rikosoikeudellista suojaa sekä turvata poliisi- ja hälytystoiminnan häiriötöntä hoitamista.

6.2.2025 | The Government adopted a resolution on the Government Action Plan for Gender Equality 2024–2027 at its session on 6 february 2025. The Action Plan contains 50 measures, and it has a strong emphasis on the prevention of violence against women. The Action Plan is based on the Programme of Prime Minister Orpo’s Government.

2.12.2021 | New Finnish chairs were appointed to two committees of the Council of Europe in the same week of November. Ambassador Nina Nordström, Finland’s Permanent Representative to the Council of Europe, was elected President of the Statutory Committee of the Council of Europe anti-corruption body, GRECO. Ambassador Päivi Kairamo will again chair the Council of Europe Committee on Counter-Terrorism (CDT) in 2022.

6.11.2024 | Minister of Finance Riikka Purra gave the Government’s address to a memorial ceremony for Jews handed over to Nazi Germany by Finland. The memorial was held in Helsinki on 6 November.

Commissioned by Minister of Transport and Communications Lulu Ranne, the Ministry of Transport and Communications and the competent authorities have examined ways to better prevent the circumvention of sanctions.

Public authorities, sports movement and stakeholder organisations are determined to tackle sexual violence against women and children in sport and to strengthen its prevention with the Expert Conference on “Sexual Violence against Women and Children in Sports”, organised in the framework of the Finnish Presidency of the Committee of Ministers.

The Ministry for Foreign Affairs has published practical expert guidance to companies on how to detect and prevent circumvention of sanctions on the MFA Russia sanctions webpage.
