12.6.2025 | The Finnish Government proposes that the President of the Republic approve the Act on the Protection of Infrastructure Critical to Society and on the Improvement of Resilience on 13 June. In accordance with the Government Programme, the act will strengthen national security and the resilience of our society. The act is scheduled to enter into force on 1 July 2025.

13.9.2022 | The Rural Village Water Resources Management Project in the Far West regions of Nepal succeeded in improving the rights and livelihoods of women, girls and disadvantaged groups. Development cooperation addressed a number of gender equality issues.

30.11.2023 | The EU health ministers will meet in Brussels on Thursday 30 November 2023. The ministers will exchange views on safeguarding the EU’s open strategic autonomy in the field of health, particularly on how to ensure the availability of medicines in Europe. 21.2.2019 | Biolan, a Finnish company specialised in ecological gardening and environmental products, has donated two dry toilets to South Africa. The donation took place via a voluntary work project of the Remote Year work and travel abroad programme. The groundwork for collaboration on dry toilets between Finland and South Africa was laid in September 2019 when a delegation from Finland met the South-African Deputy Minister of Water and Sanitation.

28.1.2021 | The resilience of critical entities in EU countries will be improved by reforming the old European Critical Infrastructure Protection Directive. The proposed new directive is significantly more extensive, and it aims to improve the resilience of critical entities providing essential services in the EU. The Government informs Parliament on 28 January of the new proposal for a directive. 

21.11.2024 | On Thursday 21 November, the Government submitted its proposal to Parliament to amend the budget proposal for 2025. Some items in the proposal concern the Government's EUR 4 billion investment programme. The proposal will increase the revenue estimate by EUR 67 million and the requirement for appropriations by EUR 405 million.

3.9.2024 | The 2025 budget proposal of Prime Minister Orpo's Government bolsters conditions for economic growth. Economic growth driven by the private sector will also serve to secure the financing base for central government finances. The fast-acting measures to curb indebtedness that were decided on due to the difficult situation in central government finances will move forward.
