  1. 10.10.2024 | Central government is prepared to provide capital funding totalling EUR 58 million this year and next year to the Foundation for the Finnish Museum of Architecture and Design. The return on capital will enable the work of a world-class museum in a new building in Helsinki. The Government proposal on the recapitalisation of the Foundation for the Museum is included in the third supplementary budget proposal for 2024 submitted to Parliament.

  2. 12.1.2026 | In order to promote the capture of biogenic carbon dioxide, the Government has decided to grant investment aid totalling EUR 90 million for the construction of capture capacity. The Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment has now launched a call for applications for the competitive bidding process for the investment aid. Applications can be submitted at Business Finland’s e-service portal no later than 31 March 2026.

  8. 10.10.2025 | Finland and the United States have signed a memorandum of understanding on icebreaker cooperation. Finnish President Alexander Stubb and US President Donald Trump signed the memorandum of understanding at their meeting in Washington on 9 October. Finnish Prime Minister Petteri Orpo also attended the meeting. This memorandum of understanding lays the foundation for commercial agreements between the United States Coast Guard and Finnish companies.

  13. 18.6.2025 | Senate Properties will begin a major renovation of the National Archives’ main building at Rauhankatu 17 in spring 2026. At the same time, the building will be adapted into a shared workspace for the National Archives, the Institute for the Languages of Finland, the Finnish National Agency for Education, the Accessibility Library Celia, and the Research Council of Finland. These agencies will move into the premises in autumn 2028.

  14. 2.12.2025 | The first evaluations have been published on the preliminary impacts and results of Finland’s CAP Strategic Plan. The evaluations analysed the results and impact achieved related to the entrepreneurial income and competitiveness of agriculture, animal welfare, the biodiversity of agricultural environments and emissions from agriculture.   16. 19.12.2024 | Finland’s Central Government and other operators are applying for a total of approximately EUR 73.36 million in financial support for 11 transport projects from the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) for Transport.
