6.3.2025 | A report commissioned by the Ministry of Social Affairs and Health discusses how society could better support children in contentious divorces and custody disputes. The report gives 31 recommendations for improving the situation.

19.5.2021 | The Prime Minister’s Office will continue the Behavioural Advisory project launched in October 2020, which experiments in practice with the application of behavioural data in managing the COVID-19 crisis. The aim of the follow-up project is to strengthen the capacity of the central government to apply behavioural data more extensively in different policy areas.

14.6.2022 | The Fifth National Dialogues Conference (NDC) will bring about 120 peace mediation experts from 30 different countries to Helsinki on 15–16 June. On the two days, the conference will focus on the significance and challenges of national dialogues in the changing world. Foreign Minister Pekka Haavisto will open the conference and participate in the opening panel discussion.

22.11.2024 | November 25 is the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, as designated by the United Nations (UN). Violence against women is also a significant problem in Finland, and solving this problem is everyone’s responsibility. The Government Palace and the Ministry for Foreign Affairs’ main building, Merikasarmi, will be illuminated in orange as part of the international campaign.

22.11.2024 | As part of the legislative reform of basic education in the arts, the Ministry of Education and Culture has charted the experiences of children and young people participating in basic education in the arts when engaging in the arts as a recreational activity. Children and young people must be consulted in all legislative drafting concerning them. The consultation was conducted using an open online survey.

18.11.2024 | The new Preparing for Incidents and Crises guide aimed at the entire population has been published on Suomi.fi. The Ministry of the Interior produced the online guide together with the Digital and Population Data Services Agency and an extensive cooperation network. The guide collects preparedness instructions in one place.

22.4.2020 | On Wednesday 22 April, the Prime Minister’s Office appointed a 13-member multidisciplinary scientific panel to support the work of the group set up by Prime Minister Sanna Marin on 8 April 2020 to deal with the aftermath of the COVID-19 crisis. 22.8.2023 | The 2023 revision of the Central Government Communications Guidelines is now complete. Rapid changes in the communications landscape and experiences gained during the crises of the past few years highlighted the need to update the previous guidelines, which were completed in 2016.

26.6.2023 | The main theme of the Nordic prime ministers’ summer meeting in Vestmannaeyjar, Iceland on 25 and 26 June was how to respond to various security threats. The level of stress or work exhaustion experienced also did not change significantly from 2019. However, there were clear differences between groups.
