20.3.2025 | The judicial website Oikeus.fi has been redesigned and the new website opened on 20 March 2025. The website contains basic information on important, everyday legal matters and links to the websites and e-services of various judicial authorities.

30.1.2025 | A working group preparing an overhaul of student financial aid has assessed the current situation in student financial aid and key development needs in the student financial aid system. Needs for development that were deemed essential include reinstating indexation and restructuring interest assistance and loan granting practices to improve the security of student loans. The working group's proposals were submitted to Minister Sandra Bergqvist on 30 January.

18.4.2024 | The new Government.fi website will launch on Wednesday 24 April. The redesigned website will offer a more harmonised user experience and visual image and will be easier to use, especially on mobile devices. In connection with the launch of the new site, the separate Prime Minister’s Office website will close.

13.12.2024 | The EU Ministers responsible for energy issues will convene in Brussels on 16 December 2024. They will discuss the Council conclusions on the promotion of geothermal energy and the future of EU’s energy policy. Finland will be represented by Minister of Climate and the Environment Kai Mykkänen.

12.3.2025 | The last projects of the Catch the Carbon package of climate measures ended at the end of 2024. The implementation of the knowledge and climate change resilient solutions produced in the package of 180 measures will continue and be further intensified through cooperation in different parts of the country. The processes to support this include the activities of the National Climate Unit of the Centres for Economic Development, Transport and the Environment (ELY Centres).

As the sum applied for was EUR 43.16 million, this call for proposals was a great success for Finland.

The Ministry for Foreign Affairs has published practical expert guidance to companies on how to detect and prevent circumvention of sanctions on the MFA Russia sanctions webpage. The guidance provides practical advice on carrying out risk assessments and sanctions compliance. The guidance includes a list of red flags that the company can use when assessing concrete cases of foreign trade.
