Foreign Minister Soini travels to informal meeting of EU Ministers of Foreign Affairs in Amsterdam

Minister for Foreign Affairs Timo Soini will participate in an informal meeting of EU Ministers of Foreign Affairs (Gymnich) in Amsterdam on 5-6 February. At this meeting, the ministers will discuss the EU Global Strategy on Foreign and Security Policy, Iran and migration.
On Friday, the EU Foreign and Defence Ministers will have a joint debate on the EU Global Strategy on Foreign and Security Policy. Friday's discussions will also touch upon relations between the EU and Iran. In addition, there will be a scenario-based policy discussion in which the Ministers will debate EU policy options in a fictional crisis scenario.
On Saturday, the EU Foreign Ministers and their counterparts from candidate countries will discuss migration.
Gymnich is a biannual meeting hosted by the rotating Presidency of the Council. The meeting is named after a castle (Schloss Gymnich) in a small town in Germany, where the first similar meeting was held in 1974.
