Minister Mykkänen discusses free trade and development policy in Brussels

Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Kai Mykkänen will visit Brussels on Wednesday, 7 September 2016.

Minister Mykkänen will meet European Commissioner for Trade Cecilia Malmström and European Commissioner for International Cooperation and Development Neven Mimica.

Trade Commissioner Malmström and Minister Mykkänen will discuss the themes of the informal conference of the Foreign Affairs Council on Trade, which will be held in Bratislava, Slovakia, in the latter part of September. Their discussions will focus on free trade questions, especially the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP) and the Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA).

EU Development Commissioner Mimica and Minister Mykkänen will handle, among other things, the review of the European Consensus on Development and the priorities of Finland's development policy.

Mykkänen will also meet Bernd Lange, Chairman of the Committee on International Trade (INTA) of the European Parliament.
