Prime Minister Sipilä to attend June meeting of European Council
Prime Minister Juha Sipilä will attend the European Council meeting to be held in Brussels on 28-29 June. The matters on the agenda are migration, economic growth, external relations and the situation following the UK's EU referendum.
The EU leaders will discuss the outcome of the EU referendum carried out in the UK. The leaders will address the migration situation and particularly the cooperation with third countries of origin and transit. The European Council's discussion on economic growth will cover a broad-based single market agenda, and policy decisions will be made regarding progress in projects important to growth. In external relations, the focus will be on the EU's global strategy, and on developing the cooperation between the EU and Nato.
