Prime Minister Marin to attend EU meeting in France
Prime Minister Sanna Marin will attend the informal meeting of EU heads of state or government in Versailles, France, on 10 and 11 March. At the meeting, the EU leaders will discuss Russia’s military attack on Ukraine and focus on ways to strengthen the Union’s defence capabilities, reduce energy dependency and build a more robust economic base.
The leaders will adopt the Versailles declaration emphasising stronger investments in European defence and capabilities, among other things. The meeting will also include a discussion on the applications for EU membership submitted by Ukraine, Georgia and Moldova.
