Prime Minister Marin to attend EU-Western Balkans summit in Tirana
Prime Minister Sanna Marin will attend the EU-Western Balkans summit in Tirana, the capital of Albania, on Tuesday 6 December. The meeting will discuss ways to strengthen cooperation between the EU and the Western Balkan countries while also taking into account the impacts of Russia’s war of aggression on the region.
The summit will not discuss EU enlargement policy, focusing instead on developing cooperation. This is the first EU-Western Balkans summit to take place in the Western Balkan region. The previous summit was held in Slovenia in October 2021.
The Western Balkan region consists of six EU partners: Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Montenegro, North Macedonia and Serbia.
