The theme of an exercise focussing on influencing through information being organised by Finland’s and Sweden’s authorities in November is how to respond to new threats that might arise in the information environment. The purpose of the exercise is to enhance cooperation and coordination between Finland and Sweden and to train public authorities to identify and respond to influencing through information.

Approximately 20 public officials from Finland and Sweden will be taking part in the exercise being held in Helsinki. The preparations for this joint exercise, the first of its kind, were organised by the Prime Minister's Office, headed by Vesa Valtonen, General Secretary of the Security Committee. Preparations for this exercise were set in motion roughly a year ago.

Besides Finnish and Swedish public officials, experts from the NATO Strategic Communications Centre of Excellence (Nato StratCom COE), stationed in Riga, will be participating in the exercise.
