Minister Stubb to World Economic Forum in Davos
Minister of Finance Alexander Stubb will attend the World Economic Forum on 20–23 January. The meeting will be organized in Davos, Switzerland.
The World Economic Forum Annual Meeting in Davos will bring together the world’s most influential political and business leaders and representatives of research, the media and other fields of expertise, to seek solutions to global challenges together.
The forum consists of several debates on various subject matters and this year's highlight is "the fourth industrial revolution". Of the about 2,500 participants, 40 will be heads of state or government.
Finance Minister Stubb has been invited to two events organised for the world's finance leaders. They will focus on the strengthening of economic growth through stabilizing the financial markets and on the international migration and the humanitrian crisis linked to it.
Stubb will also moderate an event dealing with the future of industrial production and hold an opening address at a seminar on investments securing pension systems. In addition, he will take part in many other events which will handle, for example, digitalization and the modernization of healthcare and social welfare services.
His programme in Davos includes also bilateral meetings with political leaders and executive directors of international companies (such as IMF and Uber). He will also give a number of interviews to international media (among others to Al Jazeera, CNBC, CNN, Deutsche Welle, ITV, Politico, Reuters and Wall Street Journal).
Minister of Finance Stubb will return to Finland late on Saturday 23 January.
