Minister of Transport and Communications Lulu Ranne visits Strasbourg on 25–27 November 2024 to meet key Members of the European Parliament.

President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen will present the Commission’s work programme to Parliament and the plenary session of the European Parliament will vote on the new Commission on 27 November.

“It will be great to be present in Strasbourg on such an important day. Finland has made serious efforts to influence the Commission’s five-year work programme. In the EU very good work has been done on matters such as digital and data regulation. The Commission should ensure that the EU will attract investments and create growth by making use of well-functioning regulation. Now we must focus on the implementation,” Minister Ranne says.

“Transport infrastructure has an important role in strengthening the EU’s competitiveness. A well-functioning and modern cross-border transport network is an important part of comprehensive security as well. These are the messages Finland has promoted actively,” Minister Ranne says.

In Strasbourg, Minister Ranne will also meet the Chairs of the Parliamentary Committee on the Internal Market and Consumer Protection and Committee on Industry, Research and Energy.

She will also meet Finnish Members of European Parliament.
