Estonian Prime Minister Kallas to visit Finland
Estonian Prime Minister Kaja Kallas will visit Finland on Friday 29 September at the invitation of Prime Minister Petteri Orpo. During her visit to Helsinki, Prime Minister Kallas will also meet with President of the Republic Sauli Niinistö.
Prime Minister Orpo and Prime Minister Kallas will discuss border security, the security situation in the Baltic Sea region and support for Ukraine, among other things.
“Our regular meetings are increasingly important in the current international situation. Close cooperation and exchange of information between Finland and Estonia are even more natural now that both countries are members of NATO,” says Prime Minister Orpo.
The Prime Ministers will also discuss topical EU issues before the informal European Council to be held in Granada, Spain next week (6 October). On the previous day, heads of state and government will also attend a meeting of the European Political Community in Granada.
Prime Ministers Orpo and Kallas have met once before, in Tallinn on 5 July. This was Prime Minister Orpo's first bilateral visit abroad after the appointment of his Government.
