President and Ministerial Committee on Foreign and Security Policy discuss Finland’s NATO partnership, defence cooperation with Sweden and Norway and Government Report on Foreign and Security Policy
In their meeting on Friday 15 May 2020, the President of the Republic and the Ministerial Committee on Foreign and Security Policy received a briefing on NATO’s development and on topical questions concerning Finland’s NATO partnership. Finland plans to continue its extensive, pragmatic cooperation with NATO.
The President and the Ministerial Committee also discussed the development of defence cooperation with Sweden and Norway.
Another item on the agenda was the preparation of the Government Report on Finnish Foreign and Security Policy. In particular, the discussion addressed the effects of the coronavirus on Finland’s foreign and security policy environment.
