The EU Telecommunications Council will convene in Brussels on 21 May 2024. At the meeting, Finland will be represented by State Secretary Marjo Lindgren.

On the basis of a discussion paper by Belgium, the current Presidency of the Council of the European Union, the meeting will discuss the implementation of regulation in the digital and cyber fields. In recent years, the EU has produced a great deal of new legislation for the digital and cyber sectors. The Council is to discuss how to shift the focus from statute drafting to implementation.

In addition, the Council is to adopt separate conclusions on the EU’s digital policy and cyber policy with the aim of defining EU priorities for these sectors for the next legislative period.
