Minister of Employment Arto Satonen will organise an event on the development of the Finnish labour market model on 16 January 2024. Those who have participated in discussions between labour market organisations on developing the model as well as the National Conciliator have been invited to the event.

A consultation round on the Government Programme’s entries on the export-driven labour market model and the development of the mediation system is currently under way. The deadline for submitting comments is 9 January 2024.

In its programme, the Government outlined that the Finnish labour market negotiation system needs to be enhanced. The Government aims to strengthen the export-driven labour market model in order to boost Finland’s long-term competitiveness. The project is part of the Government’s package of labour market reforms.

The Minister of Employment will meet media representatives after the event on 16 January 2024. Information on media arrangements will be provided later.
