Fennovoima cancels its construction licence application for nuclear power plant in Pyhäjoki
On 24 May 2022, Fennovoima Oy submitted to the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment a notification by which it cancels the construction licence application concerning the Hanhikivi 1 nuclear power plant. The company announced on 2 May 2022 that it has terminated the plant delivery contract concluded with Russian RAOS Project.
Fennovoima submitted to the Ministry a construction licence application addressed to the Government in June 2015 and updated versions of it in August 2015 and April 2021.
In the coming weeks, the Government may issue a formal decision to end the administrative measures for processing the application.
