Ministry of the Environment participates in a joint European research project on forest sector – The call is open until 13 April 2021
The ForestValue network has announced a call for a joint European research project that aims to support the sustainable and multifunctional use and management of forests and promote building with wood. The number of countries participating in the call is 10 and the total funding budget is about 11,5 million euro.
The areas addressed are the sustainable and multifunctional use and management of forests, building with wood from various perspectives, and analysis of benefits in the use of forest biomass.
The Ministry of the Environment will allocate a total of 300 000 euros in funding for projects aimed to develop building with wood in Finland. The funding is to be used by the end of 2023 but the project may continue until the end of 2024. Funding may be granted for the maximum of 80 % of the eligible costs of the project.
Besides the Ministry of the Environment, the funding partners in Finland are the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry and the Academy of Finland.
