EU Commission's New Information Center for Biotech and Biomanufacturing Companies

The EU Commission has opened a new information center called the "Biotech and Biomanufacturing Hub". The center particularly assists startup companies as well as small and medium-sized enterprises in bringing innovative products to the union's market and improving their competitiveness.

The information center provides information on, among other things:

•     Sources of funding
•     Research and technology infrastructures
•     Resources
•     Protection of industrial and intellectual property rights
•     Approval processes
•     Legislation
•     Support networks

The biotechnology center also advises on how these supports can be utilized in starting, expanding, and growing a business. The center is part of the Commission's strategy to promote biotechnology activities within the EU.
