Defence Forces seek upgrades to 155 K9 armoured howitzers

The Defence Forces will procure upgrades to forty-eight 155 K9 armoured howitzers from Millog Oy for EUR 8.1 million.


The 155 mm K9 Thunder self-propelled howitzers were purchased from South Korea in 2021 and 2022. The upgrading will be carried out in Finland in 2024-2030, and the domestic employment effect will be 27 person-years.


The procurement is included in the defence administration’s planned budget framework.
