Defence Forces to procure inertial navigation system devices

Minister of Defence Antti Häkkänen has authorised the Finnish Defence Forces to sign a framework agreement on inertial navigation system (INS) devices.
- The procurement will improve the capability of all services to maintain GNSS-independent spatial data and to calculate the direction of fire of weapons systems, says Minister Häkkänen.
The agreement concerns the procurement of INS devices in 2024–2031. The devices will be supplied by Safran Electronics & Defence in France.
The overall VAT-exclusive value of the procurement, options included, will be about EUR 48 million.
