US Secretary of the Army to visit Finland
The United States’ Secretary of the Army Daniel P. Driscoll will pay a working visit to Finland on 18–19 June 2026. Finland’s Ministry of Defence is hosting the visit.
Secretary Driscoll and Finnish Minister of Defence Antti Häkkänen will meet in Mikkeli on Friday 19 June. The Secretary and Minister will discuss bilateral defence cooperation, current topics in NATO, the security situation in Finland’s neighbouring areas and participation in training and exercises.
“We have been actively working to deepen defence cooperation between Finland and the United States. One example of this is the Defence Cooperation Agreement (DCA), which reflects the United States’ commitment to Finland’s security and lays the foundation for cooperation in times of crisis,” Minister of Defence Häkkänen said.
During the working visit, Secretary Driscoll will meet with the Command of the Finnish Defence Forces and become acquainted with Finland’s defence industry.
Secretary of the Army Driscoll will also meet with President of the Republic Alexander Stubb during his visit.
