You can now use also Enter Finland to apply for a residence permit to look for work when you have completed your studies. With this type of residence permit, you can look for work in Finland or start a business. You may get the permit for two years at the most.

Apply for the permit within five years from the date when your residence permit for studies expired if you have not yet found a job. With the permit, you can work as much as you want to and in any sector.

When you find work, you can apply for

• a residence permit for a person with a degree completed in Finland 
• a residence permit on the basis of research completed in Finland or 
• a residence permit for an entrepreneur if you have started a business
