Antti Rinne appointed as Minister of Finance
On 6 June, the President of the Republic appointed Party Leader Antti Rinne, Master of Laws, as Member of Government and Minister of Finance. At the same time, the President of the Republic released upon request Member of Parliament Jutta Urpilainen, Master of Education, from her responsibilities as a Member of the Government and Minister of Finance.
Minister Rinne took an oath of office and a judicial oath at the plenary session of the Government. The Government decided at its session on the division of responsibilities between ministers and on ministers’ deputies.
Minister of Finance Rinne was appointed as the minister deputising for the Prime Minister. Minister Rinne is a member of all four cabinet committees and acts as vice-chair of the Economic Council.
Mr Raimo Luoma, Master of Laws, was appointed as State Secretary to Minister Rinne.
