EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaja Kallas to visit Finland

Kaja Kallas, the High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice-President of the European Commission, will visit Helsinki on 5 February and meet Finnish Minister for Foreign Affairs Elina Valtonen. Their discussions will focus on the current situation within foreign and security policy.

Minister for Foreign Affairs Elina Valtonen and EU High Representative Kaja Kallas will discuss Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine, transatlantic relations, European security and other topical issues.

“Europe must maintain a shared understanding of the permanent and long-term threat that Russia poses. Finland will continue to support Ukraine tirelessly and to strengthen European deterrence and defence,” says Foreign Minister Valtonen.

While in Finland, EU High Representative Kallas will also meet President of the Republic Alexander Stubb and Prime Minister Petteri Orpo.
