Finland's Minister of Defence Häkkänen to attend meeting of Ukraine Defense Contact Group at Ramstein Airbase
The Ukraine Defense Contact Group (UDCG) will meet at Ramstein Airbase in Germany on Thursday 9 January. Minister of Defence Antti Häkkänen will represent Finland at the meeting.
The meeting will discuss the situation in Ukraine and coordinate military support to Ukraine.
"The countries supporting Ukraine are meeting at a critical moment. Russia is testing the resilience of democratic countries and pushing the limits of acceptable conduct. The fate of Ukraine is at stake, and so is the security of Europe. The West must stand united and determined", says Minister of Defence Antti Häkkänen.
The meeting will be hosted by United States Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin together with General Charles Q. Brown, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.
The Ukraine Defense Contact Group is a coalition of over 50 countries that coordinates the delivery of materiel support to Ukraine under the leadership of the United States.
