Foreign Minister Valtonen to attend meeting of NATO Ministers of Foreign Affairs
Finland’s Minister for Foreign Affairs Elina Valtonen will attend a meeting of NATO Ministers of Foreign Affairs in Brussels on 3–4 December.
NATO foreign ministers will discuss the Alliance’s support to Ukraine, cooperation with NATO’s key partners, such as countries in its southern neighbourhood, and NATO’s current strategic affairs.
“Right now, we, NATO Allies, must strengthen Ukraine’s military position and weaken Russia’s economy. These are the conditions for a just and lasting peace. Otherwise, Putin will not be ready to negotiate in good faith. Finland will soon announce our next military aid package, and we are already planning another one,” Foreign Minister Valtonen says.
Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andrii Sybiha and High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaja Kallas will attend the meeting of the NATO-Ukraine Council. King Abdullah II of Jordan will join the session on NATO’s partnerships.
