Marja Koskela appointed to serve as Diplomatic Adviser to Prime Minister Orpo

Prime Minister Petteri Orpo has invited Counsellor Marja Koskela to serve as his Diplomatic Adviser. Koskela, who took up her duties on 1 August, will assist the Prime Minister in international affairs.

Prior to her appointment as Diplomatic Adviser, Koskela was Deputy Head of Mission at the Embassy of Finland in Moscow. She has previously worked at the Ministry for Foreign Affairs as Diplomatic Adviser to the Minister for European Affairs and Foreign Trade and to the Minister for Foreign Trade and Development, at the ministry’s Department for Russia, Eastern Europe and Central Asia and Political Department, and at the Embassies of Finland in Paris and Moscow. 

Koskela holds a Master of Social Sciences degree from Åbo Akademi University.
