Minister Berner to visit Moscow

Minister of Transport and Communications Anne Berner will visit Moscow on Tuesday, 17 October 2017. She will meet Russia's Minister of Transport Maksim Sokolov and Minister of Communications Nikolai Nikiforov. Minister Berner will also take part in Open Innovations forum, which this year focuses on digitalisation.

Items on the agenda of the transport ministers' meeting include improvement of transport systems, cooperation in the transport sector between Finland and Russia, data economy and projects in intelligent transport systems and services, transport emissions reduction targets and the Northeast Passage cable.

The telecommunications cable will also be on the agenda of the meeting with Minister of Communications Nikiforov. Other topics to be covered will be data utilisation, information security and digitalisation.

Minister Berner will be interviewed at the international Open Innovations forum on digitalisation projects in Finland, especially in the transport and communications sectors.

"Our aim in Finland is to provide the best possible operating environment for the development of digital services and business opportunities and to actively engage in international cooperation. One example of this is cooperation between Finland and Russia in intelligent transport systems and services," says Minister Berner.

Open Innovations is an annual event that aims to promote new technologies and international cooperation in innovation activities.
